DibsHub

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026

DibsHub is operated by Essiel Express LLC (“DibsHub,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with to run the service. We have written it to match what the product actually does, not to sound like everyone else. If a question is not answered here, email support@dibshub.com and we will answer plainly.

The short version: we collect what we need to run bookings and keep reviews honest, we set one cookie to keep you signed in, and we measure our public pages with Google Analytics and a Meta advertising pixel, never inside the product once you are signed in. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your name, email, and phone number, plus a securely hashed password. Barbers and shops also add business details like business name, address, hours, services, bio, and photos.
  • Booking details. The appointments you request or receive: service, date and time, the barber, and any note you add.
  • Reviews. The rating and text you leave, shown with your display name.
  • Verification. We send codes to your email or phone to confirm they are really yours. We store only a hashed code and what it was sent to, never the code in plain text.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. DibsHub is for adults running or booking appointments.

How we use it

  • To run bookings: create, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments between you and your barber.
  • To send confirmations and reminders by email, and, if you opt in, by SMS, so fewer chairs sit empty. Text messages are optional (see Text messages below); reply STOP to any text to opt out.
  • To keep reviews honest by verifying email and phone and preventing duplicate accounts.
  • To protect our forms from bots and abuse.
  • To keep the platform secure, fix problems, and comply with the law.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use what you give us to run bookings, your name, your phone number, your appointments or your client list, for advertising. Our advertising is measured only by the pixel described below, on our marketing pages, and it is never joined to your account or your bookings.

Cookies and the advertising pixel

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We also load Cloudflare Turnstile on our sign-up and booking forms to tell humans from bots, which may set its own strictly-necessary cookie for that check. If you block the sign-in cookie, you will not be able to stay logged in.

Beyond those, our public pages load two measurement tags. Google Analytics 4 counts visits and tells us which pages get read, so we know what to build and write next. The Meta pixel tells us how our ads perform and lets Meta show DibsHub to people like the ones already using it. Both identify a browser rather than a person, we do not join either to your bookings, and nothing on DibsHub depends on them. We run nothing else: no session recording, no heatmapping. We have not turned on Google Signals, so your visit is not tied to your Google account or followed across your devices.

We send Google the path of a page and never its query string, and neither tag loads at all on pages whose address carries a private link, such as a password reset, a review invitation or a waitlist confirmation.

Whether they run depends on where you are, because the law does.In the EU and EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland they load only if you accept the banner shown on your first visit, and declining keeps them off for good. Everywhere else, including the United States, they run by default and you can switch them off by blocking cookies for this site, browsing privately, or using a tracker blocker. To change an answer you have given, clear this site’s data in your browser and you will be asked again.

Both run on our public pages only. Neither runs inside the product once you are signed in, so your dashboard, your calendar, your bookings and your client list are never measured, and neither is ever loaded on a client business’s own website that we host. Those client sites have their own analytics, belonging to that business, described in their own privacy policy.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum needed with a small set of service providers who process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms:

  • Amazon Web Services (SES) to send our email (confirmations, reminders, verification).
  • Twilio to send and receive SMS (confirmations, reminders, verification codes).
  • Cloudflare for bot protection (Turnstile) and platform security.
  • Google Maps to show a shop’s location as an embedded map on its public page.
  • Stripe to process payments where payments are enabled. Card details go straight to Stripe; we do not store them.
  • Google (Analytics) receives the public-page visits described under Cookies: the page path, never the query string. It receives nothing from inside the product and nothing about your bookings.
  • Meta receives the public-page visits where the advertising pixel runs. It receives nothing from inside the product and nothing about your bookings.

We also share your booking and contact details with the barber or shop you book with, so they can serve you. When you book, the barber keeps their own record of you as their client. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the platform or its users, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale.

Text messages (SMS)

Appointment texts are optional. We ask for your phone number to identify you and hold your booking, but we only text you if you opt in: by ticking the consent box on the booking form, or by joining a waitlist (where being texted about an open spot is the whole point). If you opt in, the business you booked with sends transactional messages through DibsHub: booking confirmations, reminders, reschedule and cancellation notices, waitlist openings, and pickup-ready notices. (One-time verification codes are sent when you request them and are not part of this opt-in.) Message frequency varies by your booking activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to text messages is never a condition of booking: decline it and you still book, and the business reaches you by email instead.

We do not sell your personal information. No mobile information or SMS opt-in consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The phone number and consent you provide for text messaging are used only to deliver the appointment messages above, and are shared solely with the messaging provider (Twilio) that transmits them on our behalf. Text messaging opt-in data is never sold, rented, or shared for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to run the service. If you delete your account, we keep only your email address and phone number. Everything else, including your name, password, and login, is erased. We retain those two details so the reviews you already left stay attached to the barbers who earned them, and so the same email or phone cannot be used to open a fresh account and review again. Because those details are retained, the same email or phone cannot be re-registered later. This mirrors the retention rule in our Terms of Use, and the two are meant to agree.

Security

Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, never in plain text. Verification codes and reset tokens are hashed too. We use encrypted connections and reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us at once if you suspect a problem.

Your choices

  • You can view and update your account details any time you are signed in.
  • You can edit or remove any review you left.
  • You can delete your account, subject to the retention rule above.
  • You can opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any text.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data. To exercise any of them, contact us and we will help.

Changes

We may update this policy as DibsHub grows. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the date above and, where it matters, let you know.
